I left the house today! I heard on NPR the average person spends 90% of their time indoors. Sadly I have become a statistic, especially this time of year. It’s no wonder why we have serious environmental issues. If we aren’t spending time outdoors we don’t feel connected to our planet. The Japanese have a philosophy called Shinrin Yoku or “Forest Bathing.” It’s the idea that surrounding oneself with nature has healing benefits. I believe it and need it right now. Seeing the ice melting off of my windshield this morning was a reminder that spring is coming and I will be spending more time outdoors feeding my soul.
