I’m currently on a skiing/snowboarding trip this weekend with some of my closest friends. Fog, rain and warm weather are not the ideal conditions you’d hope for, but we are having a blast regardless.

I lived in Vail Colorado for ten years and since moving to Asheville in 2010, I’ve been snowboarding four times, counting today. In the 32 years I’ve been skiing and snowboarding this was the first time I been rained on while on the mountain. It didn’t matter one bit, I enjoyed every soggy minute of it. These are the moments I live for. I love my job, however, this is what motivates me. It’s been said before, “if you find a job you love you’ll never work a day in your life.” I disagree and I love my career and with hope, health and a steady hand I will continue to do this for the rest of my life. If my art career doesn’t work out and I have to go back to restaurant work or selling wine for a living, I will still create new art because it’s a who I am. That said, I work to live not live to work.
